The International Primary Curriculum

This ‘ready-made’ curriculum is interesting because it has always held on to a model of cross-
curricular, thematic learning. The curriculum is rooted in recent research into brain development
and the way children learn, with clear objectives and inbuilt assessment.

The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) was originally intended for use in international schools
where there was a big turnover in both children and staff, but the curriculum is increasingly
popular in UK primary schools in both the state and independent sectors.

The IPC is organized in topics (over 80 different units of work are now available at different levels
and age ranges).
